. I have finised my undergraduate and was on OPT till July 2nd. I went to consultancy for H1 visa. I was selected on H1 visa. However, still not received my approval letter. As we all know that there will be sixty days grace periode after OPT. I got an admission at one University in 27 th of June and transfer my record form pervious university before expiring my OPT. The new university has issued me an I20 saying transfer pending. however, i have register all my classes and my classes will began from this comming september7th. My question is am I still on F1 status or H1 status. or If i got approval for H1 visa then can I drop all my classes in first day of october ( Starting date of H1). please give me some advise.

If you have your I 20 (not pending) are ur are maintaining your status at school then u r still in F1 yet it is advisable to check with ur international adviser at school and if u get approved for h1b then your visa status will automatically change from the 1st of OCT.
