As far as I see, Gyanendra wants to rule the country, like his father. It is quite obvious and anyone can agree to the fact that if he wanted peace in the countryrather than power, he could have joined hands with the political parties and fought against the maoists. Clearly, he wanted POWER, so he played the drama whereby he would look like hero. As far as I see, there'll be no true democracy in our country until there is true democracy. I am wondering about one thing - For Sher Bahadur Deuba, eight months time while for himself, three years??????

No wonder he's taken the total power. Imagine yourself in his shoes, you'd do the same. When Maoists are becoming stronger and stronger, controlling more than quarter of our country, then who would be worried most? Maoists means death of whom???? The last option to survive is to take guns in own hands when noone seem to protect him. Have compassion upon him.... the world is missing compassion so it's becoming more and more dangerous place.

Here is more to prove your point....."King Gyanendra: The absolute monarch"

When King Gyanendra of Nepal was a boy, he was sent to school in Darjeeling in neighbouring India. A story from his time there sheds light on the character of the man ..........Jawaharlal Nehru, the prime minister of a newly independent India, was to make an official visit to Darjeeling, and one of the stops on his itinerary was at the school. Gyanendra and the other young Nepali princes were told they would have the honour of presenting the visiting dignitary with a flower. But Gyanendra refused. "I won't do it," the precocious prince is said to have told the headmaster. "I am higher than he."............

I do not favor Indi, but when a man has earned some repect, show some repect.....And Gyne doe not know that........
